About

I'm Samir, based in Pune. By day I work in technology and digital transformation, currently as a CIO in the automotive industry — alongside that, photography has grown into an equally serious part of my life.

My photography started with travel and nature work, then moved steadily toward birding and wildlife. Bird portraits are where I spend most of my attention: clean backgrounds, good light, fine feather detail, and the patience to wait for the moment a bird's own character comes through in the frame.

Beyond portraits, I'm drawn to wildlife behaviour, landscapes met along the way while travelling, and the occasional black-and-white composition. Recent trips have taken me to Masai Mara, Kaziranga, Corbett, and various birding locations across India — Masai Mara especially, for the sheer range of birds and wildlife interaction on offer.

I shoot with a Nikon Z8 and long telephoto glass. Away from the camera, I collect philately related to Everest expedition postal history.
